チェチェン人身元不明遺体は3000人以上

　7月3日のイタルタス通信によると、親ロシア派チェチェン政権の人権委員会委員長、ヌルディ・ヌハジーエフは、モスクワの会議で「チェチェンの大量遺体遺棄現場には民間人と兵士合わせて3000人以上が埋められている」と語ったそうです。会議ではチェチェンで発掘された遺体の身元確認をどのように行うかが検討されています。

その後 Interfax から英語の情報が入ってきたので、一部を訂正しました。メールで流れてきたもので、サイトにはアップされていないようなのですが、以下に英文記事を転載します。

GROZNY July 3 (Interfax) - The unidentified remains of over 3,000 people who died between 2000 and 2004, have been buried in mass graves in Chechnya, the Chechen presidential press service reported, citing Chechen ombudsman Nurdi Nukhazhiyev.

According to the Chechen Emergency Situations' Ministry, 1,138 bodies were buried between 2000 and 2001 alone. This is without taking into account the following three years. Our assumption is that the remains of over 3,000 people have been buried in mass graves in Chechnya.

Among them, certainly there are those who are on the list of missing and kidnapped people, Nukhazhiyev was quoted as saying by the press service.

As early as 2005, the Council of Europe officially announced its intention to assist in opening a laboratory to exhume and identify the bodies, the ombudsman said.
